Associate Director-General, InvestHK
Mr Charles Ng was appointed as the Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK) in July 2007. He heads up one of two divisions that is responsible for providing free and personalised services and support to help overseas, Mainland and Taiwanese companies to establish or expand their business presence in Hong Kong. His team is responsible for the following priority sectors: Business & Professional Services, Financial Services, Transportation, Food & Beverage, Renewable Energy & Environment, and Industrial Related Business.
Mr Ng’s division also looks after InvestHK’s corporate services. This team liaises with other Government departments and supports the department’s operations including the development and monitoring of management performance indicators, managing the InvestHK investment promotion ambassadors’ scheme, and coordinating with international schools over the availability of school places for expatriate children, etc.
In addition, Mr Ng is geographically responsible for InvestHK’s operations in the United Kingdom, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Nordic countries, Turkey, Korea, Australia and New Zealand.
Mr Ng also has extensive experience in the private sector, previously working for companies in the manufacturing and trading sectors, as well as for multinationals in the financial services and banking sectors in Mauritius, Canada and Hong Kong. He also has experience setting up and managing his own business and running a major international Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Mr Ng is a part-time lecturer at The University of Hong Kong’s School of Professional and Continuing Education. He speaks English, French, Cantonese, Putonghua, Hakka and Creole.
Mr Ng holds a MBA degree jointly conferred by the Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management (US) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s School of Business.
